Omaha Nighthawks News Release
OMAHA, NE - Tuesday, September 28 - The Omaha Nighthawks enjoyed their time with local youth so much last week that the players plan to do it again this Wednesday. Approximately 150-200 students from three local middle schools will visit members of the Omaha Nighthawks on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Kroc Center. The students will come from Norris, King Science, and Lewis and Clark middle schools.
Last week, students from Morton Junior High and McMillan Junior High came and listened to and asked questions to players like P.J. Alexander, D.J. Shockley, Gary Stills, Maurice Clarett and others. The players who speak this week will talk with the kids about how the decisions they make today will impact their future, and will field questions on a variety of topics.
"The coaches and players of the Nighthawks are tremendous role models," said Major Todd Thielke, Senior Kroc Center Administrator. "They are a real inspiration to the youth at the Kroc Center and the Omaha community and we are thrilled to provide a facility that encourages positive, life-changing experiences for children and adults."
The Omaha Nighthawks will continue to reach out to Omaha youth through mentoring programs and community events throughout the season.
