Seattle Reign FC News Release
TACOMA, Wash. - OL Reign has re-signed midfielder Dani Weatherholt to a two-year deal, the club announced today. Per league and club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Dani has been an important player for us on and off the pitch," said OL Reign head coach Farid Benstiti. "She gives us great leadership in the group and always shows her quality in matches. I am very happy that I will work with Dani again next season."
Weatherholt joined OL Reign in January 2020 through a trade with the Orlando Pride. The midfielder made seven appearances, including four starts, between the NWSL Challenge Cup and the Fall Series, playing a total of 460 minutes. The 26-year-old was a regular contributor with Orlando, playing at least 1,300 minutes in each of the last three NWSL seasons.
"I am grateful to have signed with OL Reign again for the next two years," Weatherholt said. "Although last season was short, it shed light on the incredible players, staff, and ambition of this club. I am looking forward to getting more connected with the Tacoma community and working toward bringing a title home to the fans in 2021."
