OKLAHOMA CITY - OKC Energy FC has announced the signing of midfielder Christian Duke, General Manager Jason Hawkins announced today. Duke signs with Energy FC after playing with the club last season on loan from Sporting Kansas City. Duke was drafted 14th overall in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft by Sporting KC.

"I'm happy to have Christian back with us," said Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen. "He did great job for us last year. He's a hard-working player and has a professional attitude. Christian has high ambitions, and I'm sure he can achieve those goals here with us."

Duke made 13 appearances for Energy FC while on loan during the 2014 season. He had three assists in 912 minutes played and participated in all 120 minutes of action during the U.S. Open Cup for Oklahoma City.

Duke played for USL PRO champion Orlando City SC during the 2013 season, where he was named the team's top rookie. He had one goal and one assist in 22 matches for the Lions and start in the USL PRO championship match.

"I'm excited to be back in Oklahoma City playing for a great coach, organization and the best fans," Duke said. "I had a great experience here last year and this year will be even better. This club has high expectations, and I'm happy to be a part of it and grow as a player."

Duke played collegiately at the University of San Diego, where is earned All-West Coast Conference second team honors as a senior after the Toreros advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship. In 60 career matches at USD, Duke registered six assists.

The Overland Park, Kansas, native played for the Sporting KC Academy while attending Shawnee Mission South High School.
