OKC Energy FC and St. Louis FC to Meet in Preseason Match

OKLAHOMA CITY - OKC Energy FC and St. Louis FC will meet in a preseason soccer exhibition match on Thursday, March 5 on the campus of Missouri State University in Springfield. Match time is 6 p.m. at the Betty & Bobby Allison South Soccer Stadium. General admission is $5 at the door with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the family Springfield police officer Aaron Pearson. Both teams will participate in a postgame autograph session.

"We're excited to play St. Louis in a preseason match," said Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen. "It will give us a good idea of where we stand compared to the other teams in our league. It will benefit both teams to have a game against each other at this point of the year."

Energy FC and St. Louis FC are scheduled to square off twice during the USL PRO regular season. The two teams meet on April 25 at 7 p.m. CT in Oklahoma City and against on July 25 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Louis.

Energy FC kicks off its preseason schedule at the IMG Suncoast Pro Classic in Bradenton, Florida. Energy FC will play four games against top-level competition, including Major League Soccer teams Toronto FC and the New York Red Bulls, in addition to Denmark's HB Koge.

Energy opens against Toronto FC on Wednesday, February 18 and plays the Red Bulls on Saturday, February 21 and HB Koge on February 25 before closing out the tournament in either the consolation or championship bracket on February 28.

All games will be streamed live, and Energy FC will have full coverage from Florida during the 11-day training session.
