Oilers Announce Radio Plans

September 28, 2006 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

Even when the Tulsa Oilers aren't playing at home this season, fans will still be able to follow all of their action.

The Oilers and KRVT AM 1270 have reached agreement for the station to broadcast the Oilers road games and weekly coach's show in the 2006-07 season. For the past two seasons KRVT has carried St. Louis Cardinals baseball games in Tulsa. The Cardinals won the National League Central Division last season and lead the division race late in the season this year.

"If it's good enough for the Cardinals, it's good enough for us," Oilers coach Butch Kaebel said with a laugh. "We're glad that our fans will be able to follow us when we're not at home."

The agreement also calls for the Monday night Butch Kaebel Show to also air on KRVT AM 1270 from 7-8 p.m. That show will begin on Monday October 16 and will be broadcast live from Cowboy Sharkies. Steve McCall returns for his third season as play-by-play announcer and coach's show host.

Training camp for the Oilers begins with players reporting on Sunday October 8th and the first on ice session Monday October 9th.

The Oilers begin the regular season on Friday October 20th in Wichita. Their home opener is Saturday October 28th at 7:35 p.m. also against Wichita.

Oiler season tickets for the 2006-07 season are now on sale. The prices are the same as the 2005-06 season, ranging from $300 to $475. The Oilers have also instituted an automatic payment plan to make purchasing season tickets even easier and more convenient. Also new this year is a 10 game flex pack. For more information call the Oilers at (918) 632-7825.
