Edmonton, AB.: The Edmonton Oil Kings 3rd Annual Pre-season Invitational Tournament, presented by Elite Sportswear and Awards, runs Friday, August 28th through Sunday, August 30th in St. Albert. Six WHL teams will play seven games over the three days at Servus Credit Union Place.

FULL PRE-SEASON TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

The Oil Kings will play all three nights at 7:00 pm. The team will face the Regina Pats on Friday, the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday and the Medicine Hat Tigers Sunday. The Red Deer Rebels and the Moose Jaw Warriors are also playing in the Pre-season Invitational.

"This is a great opportunity for our management, coaches and fans to get a look at our prospective players in game action" says Oil Kings GM Bob Green.

Tickets are on sale now for the tournament. A full weekend pass is $25, and day passes are $10. Tickets are available on line at oilkings.ca, or can be purchased by calling 414-GOAL.

"It is an important weekend for a lot of our players. We will get our roster down to about 28 after Sunday," says Green.

A Media and Scouts Lounge will be providing supper each evening prior to the Oil King games. General Manager Bob Green, Head Coach Steve Pleau and any players requested will be made available after Oil King games. There will be a media area for post game interviews located in the hallway by the dressing rooms at ice level.
