ELMA, N.Y. ( Monday, October 20, 2014 ) - The U.S. Women's National Team earned two shutouts in their first two group games of the CONCACAF Championship and can lock-up first place in Group A on Monday night. Across the globe, Sydney FC fell but maintained second place while Newcastle cruised to a dominating win. Here's a recap of last week's offseason play:
A Look Back: October 13-19
Flash Acquire Engen, Edwards and Pick from Houston
On Thursday, the Western New York Flash announced a trade with Houston, sending midfielder Carli Lloyd to the Dash for Whitney Engen, Becky Edwards and a 2016 third round pick in the NWSL Draft. Both Engen and Edwards will be returning to WNY where they were members of the 2011 WPS Championship team.
USWNT Opens CONCACAF With Two Wins
The U.S. Women's National Team won its first two games of the 2014 CONCACAF Women's Championship, beating Trinidad & Tobago 1-0 on Wednesday before downing Guatemala 5-0 on Friday. Abby Wambach scored the USA's lone goal versus T&T, while newly acquired defender Whitney Engen tallied against Guatemala.
Jets Control Wanderers; Move Up Ladder
The Newcastle Jets took down the Western Sydney Wanderers 5-1 this weekend, with defender Katherine Reynolds scoring the Jets' game-winning goal just minutes into the second half. Angela Salem helped add insurance, providing an assist off a corner kick four minutes after Reynolds' score.
Sydney FC Falls to First-Place Perth
Sydney FC remains in second place in the W-League after falling 1-0 to league-leader Perth Glory. Down a goal, Jasmyne Spencer nearly equalized for the Sky Blues but could not connect with a driven cross before it went out of bounds.
A Look Ahead: October 20-26
USA vs. Haiti - Mon., Oct. 20, 2014
RFK Stadium, 7:30 p.m. ET
The U.S. Women's National Team looks to claim Group A in the 2014 CONCACAF Women's Championship on Monday night, facing Haiti in Washington, D.C. A win will propel the USWNT into the semifinal stage, where the top three teams of the tournament automatically qualify for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. The game will be aired live on Fox Soccer 1.

Newcastle vs. Brisbane - Fri., Oct. 24, 2014
Magic Park, 10 p.m. ET (1 p.m. AEST)
Salem, Reynolds and Newcastle return home following a big win in Round 6 to host the Brisbane Roar on Friday night (Saturday afternoon local). The Jets will be looking for revenge, having been beaten by the Roar 3-1 in Round 3.
CONCACAF Semifinals - Fri., Oct. 24, 2014
The semifinal round of the CONCACAF Women's Championship will kickoff on Friday at PPL Park in Chester, Pa. The Group B winner faces the Group A runner-up at 4:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 2. Following that match, the Group A winner squares off with the Group B runner-up at 7:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.

Sydney vs. Western Sydney - Sun., Oct. 26, 2014
Jubilee Oval, 12 a.m. ET (3 p.m. AEST)
Sydney FC hosts last-placed Western Sydney on Saturday for the second Sydney Derby of the season. In the first meeting between the two teams, Sydney FC shutout the Wanderers 2-0 with the game-winner coming from the boot of Jasmyne Spencer.
