Offseason Update: Jets Fly Past Adelaide; Spencer Scores Fourth

ELMA, N.Y. ( Monday, October 6, 2014 ) - The Westfield W-League has wrapped up its fourth week, with big performances from Western New York Flash players overseas. In addition, the U.S. Soccer Federation has announced its 20-player roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Championship, which will serve as qualifying for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.

A Look Back: September 29-October 6

Newcastle Cruises to 4-0 Win Over Adelaide

The Newcastle Jets (featuring Katherine Reynolds and Angela Salem) got back on the winning track on Saturday, taking a 4-0 result over Adelaide United. Up by three goals, a Salem corner kick ended up creating the game's final score with both Salem and Reynolds getting their fourth start of the season in the game.

Spencer Stays Hot as Sydney Draw Melbourne

Jasmyne Spencer scored her fourth goal in as many games, helping Sydney FC take a point against visiting Melbourne Victory and remain unbeaten. In a rematch of the 2013 W-League semifinal, Spencer scored the Sky Blues' only goal before Melbourne equalized in the second half.

Wambach, Lloyd Rostered for Qualifying; USA Head to KC

Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd have both been called upon to help the U.S. Women's National Team qualify for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. On Monday, US Soccer announced its 20-player roster for the upcoming tournament, featuring the two Flash allocations. The USA will kick-off qualifying on October 15 in Kansas City against Trinidad & Tobago in the 2014 CONCACAF Women's Championship.

Magic Park, 12 a.m. ET (3 p.m. AEST)

A trio of Flash members will hit the pitch Saturday when Salem and Reynolds welcome Spencer and Sydney FC to Magic Park. Newcastle will be looking to claim three points to climb the ladder, while Spencer and the Sky Blues aim to remain undefeated through five games.
