Ocean Center Confident with New Indoor Football Team

June 8, 2005 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA)
Daytona Beach Thunder News Release

Over the last week there has been a lot of planning and negotiating between the Ocean Center management and TUI Sports Management headed by Kevin and Zack McDonald, owners of the new Atlantic Indoor Football League expansion team, over exclusive rights to the Ocean Center for the 2006 Season. Throughout these meetings TUI Sports Management has delivered exactly what they said they would, leaving the Ocean Center confident of a promising partnership.

At their first meeting, Zack and Kevin were given a list of different things that needed to be accomplished by July 1, 2005 in order to secure the Ocean Center. The list included:

Finalizing the contract between the AIFL

Putting a deposit down on the Ocean Center.

After the latest meeting with the Ocean Center both tasks were completed. Zack and Kevin have finalized the contract between them and the AIFL as well as issued more than half of the deposit that is required to secure the Ocean Center. This has given the exclusive right to TUI Sports Management to play indoor football in 2006 and first rights to 2007 securing the building for at least two years. Ocean Center Assistant Director Chad Smith stated, "I want to be clear on this, Zack and Kevin's team have the first option to be the only indoor football team playing in the Ocean Center for the 2006 season and will have the first right of renewal for the 2007 season. They have also worked it out with the Ocean Center that all box seat and season ticket owners will get their tickets up front before the start of the season."

What is being worked on now is the official game day dates the Ocean Center will be used for. Assistant Director Chad Smith said, "I'm very pleased with the progress made by Zack and Kevin and confident that they will produce the results that are expected."
