Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to tonight's game against the Montgomery Biscuits at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville at 7:05 p.m.
Infielder Peter O'Brien has been transferred from Jacksonville to Triple-A New Orleans. O'Brien played in 43 games for the Jumbo Shrimp, hitting 13 home runs and driving in 31 runs with a .215 batting average.
The Jumbo Shrimp roster stands at 24 active players, plus Tayron Guerrero on his major league rehab assignment, and a revised roster is attached.
The Jumbo Shrimp continue their series with Montgomery at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, when Jacksonville right-hander Max Duval (2-10) is scheduled to face Biscuits right-hander J.D. Martin (7-9). Gates open at 6 p.m. for Community First Credit Union Two-for-Tuesday, when regular tickets are 2-for-1 at the box office for Community First Credit Union members using their CFCU credit or debit card. Coors Light $2 Tuesday includes $1 (12-oz.) and $2 (24-oz.) Coors Light in select locations and $1 small sodas at the concession stands. On Turn Signal Awareness Night, to encourage the public to use turn signals, the first 500 fans will receive a turn signal, in hopes of one day finding a cure for turn signal neglect.
