Oakley CHL Player/Goaltender of the Week Announced

The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending December 23rd, 2007 are center Olivier Latendresse of the Arizona Sundogs and goaltender Alexandre Vincent of the Odessa Jackalopes.

Latendresse finished the Sundogs perfect week (3-0-0) with 11 points and a +6 plus/minus rating. He netted five goals with six assists and had multiple points in each of Arizona's three victories. On Wednesday, the Lasalle, Quebec native had a goal and an assist in the Sundogs 6-5 overtime victory over Corpus Christi. He also led the team with 11 shots on goal. On Friday, Latendresse had a goal and four assists in the 10-6 victory over Rio Grande and on Sunday, again against the Killer Bees, he netted a hat trick with an assist. For the season, Latendresse has 14 goals with 14 assists in 27 games played. Twice this season, Latendresse has been re-called by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL) and in seven games with the Rampage has recorded a goal and two assists.

Vincent has been one of the top rookies in the CHL since the season began. He started his first year in the pros with four straight victories. Last week he recorded back-to-back shutouts blanking the Laredo Bucks (6-0) on Thursday and the Amarillo Gorillas (1-0) on Friday. He finished with a combined 60 saves in the two games. For the season, the Drummonville, Quebec native has just one regulation loss in 12 games (7-1-4) and his 1.97 goals against average is second in the league. His .938 save percentage is tops in the CHL. The fourth round selection of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2005 NHL Draft had an outstanding junior career going 64-41-5 in parts of four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

In recognition of their achievements, both Latendresse and Vincent will receive a special gift from Oakley.
