Oakland Roots Sports Club Announce New Partnership with GU Energy as the Club's Official Nutrition Partner

Oakland Roots SC have partnered with GU Energy Labs as the new Official Nutrition Partner ahead of the team's 2023 USL Championship Season. The East Bay-based GU Energy Labs, best known as the creator of the first Energy Gel, produces a range of performance sports nutrition products, including hydration, energy, and recovery options.

"Partnering with local companies that provide the highest quality product is something that we pride ourselves on here at Oakland Roots," said Chief Revenue Officer Steven Powell. "GU Energy will be a huge asset for our Technical department and elevate the team's performance level."

Gu Energy Labs will be the Official Sponsor of the pregame 'Parade of Champions.'

"We've collaborated with Oakland Roots on product innovation for a few years and are excited to deepen the relationship as official Nutrition Partner," said GU Sr. Marketing Manager Amy Cameron. "We look forward to working closely with the team not only on the field, but also in the local community through shared purpose work."
