NEW YORK, N.Y. - The New York Streets are battling for a playoff spot as they host the Massachusetts Pirates on Friday, July 2, at 7:00 p.m., ET at the historic Westchester County Center in White Plains, N.Y.
CELEBRATE JULY 4: To celebrate Independence Day, all fans who attend the game wearing our nation's colors (red, white and blue) will receive a special $10 ticket.
The Pirates started the season 1-4 and have won five straight games since signing former NFL Pro Bowl WR/KR Dexter McCluster. They travel to Westchester County to take on the Streets, who are looking to secure the final playoff spot in the National Arena League. The Streets are coming off a loss to the first place Jacksonville Sharks 51-42 last Saturday night.
In Saturday's game, Brooklyn prep school star (South Side H.S./Syracuse/Hampton University) David Legree threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns, including three to WR Devante Jenkins (South Carolina State) and one to WR Edgar Allen Poe, Jr. (Army). The Pirates, coming off a 61-37 win over the Columbus (Ga.) Lions are led by QB Sean Brackett who played collegiately at Columbia University.
The New York Streets broadcast team is led by veteran NYC sportscaster Peter Schwartz, the long-time voice of the former New York Dragons of the AFL. He is joined by color commentator and former New York Dragons WR/DB Will Holder. A.J. Ross, a CBS Sports reporter, is the Streets pre-game/halftime/post-game reporter.
