New York Streets News Release
NEW YORK, N.Y. - New York radio personality Anita Marks joins the New York Streets broadcast team as the Streets host the Jacksonville Sharks on Saturday, June 29, at 7:00 p.m., ET at the historic Westchester County Center in White Plains, N.Y.
Marks, who hosts radio shows on 98.7 ESPN New York, and played women's professional football from 2000-2004 for both the Miami Fury and Florida Stingrays, joins veteran broadcaster Jonathan Yardley (filling in for Streets play-by-play man Peter Schwartz) and analyst Will Holder in a three-person booth. A.J. Ross, a CBS Sports reporter, is the Streets pre-game/halftime/post-game reporter. All New York Streets home games are televised on MSG Network.
"I am excited to join the broadcast booth for the New York Streets," said Marks. "I hope my football background and acumen contributes to the game's coverage. I am really looking forward to the experience."
This is the third game between the expansion Streets and the league-leading Sharks. In the Streets first ever game, they defeated the Sharks 52-41 in Jacksonville. The Sharks got revenge last Saturday defeating the Streets at home 83-51. In Saturday's game, Brooklyn prep school star (South Side H.S./Syracuse) David Legree threw for seven touchdowns, including four to WR Edgar Allen Poe, Jr. (Army). The Sharks are led by QB Mike Fafaul who threw nine touchdowns in Saturday's game against the Streets. Fafaul, who played collegiately at UCLA, signed this year with the Sharks this year and has started two straight games at QB taking over for Jonathan Bane.
On defense, the Streets are led by a trio of linemen from the SEC, Herbert Moore (Ole Miss), Isaac Gross (Ole Miss) and Brandon Ivory (Alabama).
