New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release

Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs announced today that members of the New York Mets, the new major league affiliate of the Zephyrs, will be in town to host a "Meet the Mets" cocktail reception on Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 at Pat O'Briens on the River from 7PM - 9PM.

Tickets to the event are available to the public, and will be $30 for individual tickets and $100 for a group of four. The ticket price includes three drinks per person, as well as a program of Mets and Zephyrs speakers. Attendees must be at least 21 years of age.

The party will be attended by Mets players, potential future Zephyrs players, Mets mascot Mr. Met and Mets front office personnel, including Director of Minor League Operations Adam Wogan, who will discuss what the 2007 Zephyrs club might look like.

"We are very excited to make our first official trip to New Orleans as the big league affiliate of the Zephyrs," said Wogan. "This will be an important event to begin to establish a presence in New Orleans and will be the first of many events and trips we will make to a city that the Mets organization now has a stake in."

"I think the people of New Orleans are really going to become great Mets fans, as well as Zephyrs fans," said Zephyrs General Manager Mike Schline. "Not only are fans going to see future Mets stars playing at Zephyr Field, but they are going to see the Mets become a presence in the community through future charitable contributions and other events such as the 'Meet the Mets' reception."

Tickets to the "Meet the Mets" cocktail party can be purchased by calling the New Orleans Zephyrs at (504) 734-5155.
