NTDP Announces Star Wars Night

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - USA Hockey's National Team Development Program will host its annual Star Wars Night on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, team officials announced Monday. The game, which is sponsored locally by Hines Park Lincoln, will feature the U.S. National Under-17 Team and the Central Illinois Flying Aces in a United States Hockey League matchup.

For the sixth time, Team USA will wear Star Wars-inspired jerseys during the event. Previous designs include Darth Vader (2018), Star Wars: The Force Awakens hero robot BB-8 (2017), the iconic Stormtrooper (2016) and Han Solo (2015). The full jersey will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

All game-worn jerseys will be auctioned online at the MeiGray Auction website. Bidding will commence following the conclusion of the game. All proceeds will benefit the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Team USA has raised over $25,000 for the hospital through past jersey auctions.

The NTDP is also set to host Auston Matthews Bobblehead Night on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Matthews became the No. 1 overall selection in the 2016 NHL Draft after he shined with the NTDP from 2013-15. The standout center for the Toronto Maple Leafs owns program records for single-season goals (55) and points (117).

The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Matthews bobblehead as the U.S. National Under-18 Team hosts the USHL's Youngstown Phantoms.

Tickets to Star Wars Night and all NTDP games are available at the USA Hockey Arena box office located at 14900 Beck Road in Plymouth, Michigan, by calling (734) 453-8400 or at USAHockeyNTDP.com/Tix. USA Hockey is also offering special tickets for Star Wars Night where a portion of these tickets will benefit the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.
