NSC Minnesota Stars drop road match 1-0 to Miami FC
May 22, 2010 - U.S. Soccer Federation D-2 (USSF D-2)
Minnesota United FC News Release
Miami FC extended its season-opening unbeaten streak to six games with a 1-0 victory over the NSC Minnesota Stars Saturday night in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Miami FC tied its first five matches of the 2010 USSF Division-2 Pro League season, including a 1-1 draw last Saturday at Minnesota, but earned its first victory of the season after a strong second half display at Lockhart Stadium. There was little to choose between the sides in the first half as neither team created quality chances, but Miami attacked from the first whistle of the second half. Paulo Araujo Jr. reaped the benefits of Miami's pressure as he slipped behind the Minnesota defense in the 71st minute to convert a Christian Gomez pass for the game's only goal.
