
Not Enough Power for Mississauga in Ottawa

(Ottawa, ON - ) The Mississauga Power began a three game road trip in Ottawa today, taking on the Ottawa SkyHawks. The Power played a competitive game against the home team but could not complete a late comeback attempt, losing 89-100. Morgan Lewis stayed hot, leading the Power with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Kirk Williams Jr. chipped in with 16 points while Jaushay Rockett added 9 points with 5 rebounds in his season debut with the Power. Jerice Crouch paced the SkyHawks with 28 points and 4 rebounds.
The Power started off strong in the first quarter, holding onto a lead against the home team until two minutes left. The SkyHawks mounted a very late 13-0 run to take a 27-18 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Power responded in the second by playing the SkyHawks evenly throughout the quarter. The Power cut one point off of the SkyHawk's nine point lead to head into the half down 40-48.
After the half, the teams continued to rally, continuing to score back and forth against each other. The SkyHawks went on a 9-1 run in the middle of the third to build up a 20 point lead but the Power quickly responded with a 14-3 run of their own to stay within striking distance. The quarter ended with the SkyHawks taking a one point lead into the final quarter. In the fourth, the Power went on an 12-3 run to pull to within five points of the SkyHawks but were not able to close the gap as the SkyHawks hung on for the win. The loss drops the Power to 9-26 for the season with just five games remaining in the season.
The Power will play two more games on the road before returning to the Hershey Centre on February 20th to play the Windsor Express.
