Northern Michigan Predators News Release
The Northern Michigan Predators released rights today to 11 players who had signed Commitment Cards with the International Independent Hockey League (IIHL) franchise.
Coach Craig Coxe and General Manager Joe Kolodziej announced that they've released rights to Canadians Christian Stein, Jason Huls, Simon Rizk and Kori Handy; Russian Rustam Bakhriddinov; and Americans Phil Eichinger, Ray Kirby, Chris Oleson, Aaron Panchalk, Donald Massey and Gregg Bradley.
All 11 players will be free to sign with any team they want if they are not claimed on waivers by another IIHL club within 48 hours.
The Predators have been holding informal workouts under the watchful eye of Coach Coxe. He's expecting to invite up to 35 players to training camp, but is hoping to narrow down to a 16-man active roster with an additional 4-man supplemental roster by the start of a 5-game home stand of pre-season games from Nov. 26-30. The regular season home opener is on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Polar Bear Ice & Fitness in Harbor Springs.
