Predators 11 Claimed by IIHL Clubs

Coach Craig Coxe sent 11 players packing after pre-camp workouts in Harbor Springs for the Northern Michigan Predators, but all 11 will get second chances within the International Independent Hockey League.

The 11 players let go by the Predators were picked up on waivers today and extended training camp invitations by other teams. They were eligible for the Supplemental Roster of the Predators if not claimed on waivers within 72 hours.

Each team can employ up to 16 players on the Active Roster. A maximum of 20 players are allowed for each team when including the Supplemental Roster. Players on the Supplemental Roster can fill in when Active Roster players are injured or suspended.

Claimed on waivers by the Ohio Valley Ice Cats were Ray Kirby, Chris Oleson, Rustam Bakhriddinov and Kory Handy.

Claimed on waivers by Lansing were Phil Eichinger, Aaron Panchalk, Gregg Bradley and Jason Hule.

Claimed on waivers by the North Country Barnstormers were Donald Massey, Simon Rizk and Christian Stein.

IIHL regular season action begins on Dec. 5. Rosters must be trimmed to 32 by 11:59 pm on Nov. 25 and then to the final 20 count by 11:59 pm on Dec. 4.
