Ohio Valley Ice Cats News Release

The Ohio Valley Ice Cats have added two more players to their list of training camp prospects.

The Athens-based club in the new International Independent Hockey League (IIHL) has signed Anthony Cacciatore of Chicago and Leo James of Toronto to Commitment Cards.

Cacciatore is a 5-foot-9, 200-pound defenseman who was with the Muskegon Fury organization of the United Hockey League. He didn't play in any games after signing to attend camp with them last August, following a two-year career in the ACHA Division I level with Robert Morris College of Chicago.

Cacciatore went to Robert Morris after attending training camp in the East Coast Hockey League with the Toledo Storm after Juniors. His Junior career in USA Hockey included playing with the Metro Jets of the Central States Hockey League, Great Falls Americans of the America West Hockey League and the Capital Centre Pride of the North American Hockey League.

James is considered by pro scouts as a potential big scorer for the IIHL. He scored a game-winning goal in a pre-season game with the Winston-Salem Moosehead of the South East Hockey League (SEHL) after completing training camp this fall with the two-time Central Hockey League (CHL) champion Memphis River Kings.

James is hoping to use a big year with the Ice Cats to impress a coaching staff at the higher levels, stressing that he would rather play regularly in the IIHL as sit around in the CHL or SEHL.
