Elmira wins the front half of their doubleheader against Brockton. Pioneers starter Robbie Morrison picked up his second win of the season by shutting out the Rox 1-0. Morrison went the complete game allowing four hits and striking out four. Elmira rightfielder Yuji Nerei led the offense going 2-for-2 with the only RBI of the game. Brockton starter Brian Buchanan went five and a third innings, gave up six hits, only one unearned run and struck out five, but lost his fourth game of the season. Rox outfielder, Chad Stewart went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the offense.

Elmira takes the back half of their doubleheader against Brockton 7-0. Pioneers starter Joe Van Gorder picked up his six win of the season, going all seven innings, allowing three hits, no runs, one walk and striking out five. Cleatus Davidson and Yuji Nerei each had two hits for the Pioneers, leftfielder Jason Bryan had three RBIs and a homerun, his sixth of the season. Brockton starter, Scott Martin was chased out in the fourth inning, going three and two-thirds, allowing six hits, six runs, two walks and striking out two. First baseman Kris Zacuto led the offense for the Rox going 2-for-3. With the wins, Elmira passes the Aces to move into second in the South Division, eight games behind New Jersey.

The Capitales come back and score a run in the bottom of the eight to beat the Jackals 4-3. Quebec starter Paul Jacinto went six and a third innings, gave up nine hits, three runs (one earned) and stuck out six, but got no decision. Reliever, Michael Hoyt won his fourth game of the season for the Capitales, while closer, Alex Santos picked up his twentieth save of the season. Juan Melo led the offense for the Capitales going 1-for-3 with two RBIs, but it was Rickie Morton's single in the bottom of the eighth that was the game winner. New Jersey starter, Josh Miller, also got no decision, but went seven innings, allowing four hits, three runs and struck out six. Reliever Evan Neiser, got the lost, his first of the season for the Jackals. Alberto Vasquez and Wady Almonte led New Jersey's offense each going 2-for-4.

NEW HAVEN 8, NORTH SHORE 7

The Cutters come back from a 7-4 deficit in the bottom of the eight to end North Shore's win streak, 8-7. New Haven pitcher, Greg McCarthy picked up his first win of the season, going two innings, holding the Spirit hitless, walking two and striking out one. Cutters first baseman Hector Lebron and centerfielder PJ Johnston each had three hits with Lebron adding two RBIs. New Haven as a team belted out thirteen hits. North Shore pitcher, Ryan Biconda picked up the loss, allowing four hits and two runs in two-thirds inning of work. The Spirit offense was led by third baseman Michael Granger, who went 2-for-5 and DH Tanner Wooten, who went 3-for-4, with two RBIs and scoring two runs.

BANGOR 7, ACES 4 Game 1

W: Matt Scheuing (10-3) L: Max Newill (3-6) S: Lance Calmus (9) HR: ACES – Chad Gambill (5), BAN – Brian Baker (1)

The Lumberjacks win game one of their doubleheader against the Aces 7-4. Bangor starter Matt Scheuing won his tenth game of the season, going six innings, allowing three hits, three run and striking out four. Reliever Lance Calmus picked up his ninth save of the season. Rolando Bello and Mark Burke each had two hits for the Jacks, but leftfielder Brian Baker capped off a six run fourth inning by hitting a grandslam, his first homerun of the season. The Aces Max Newill lost his six game of the season going three innings, allowing six hits and seven runs. Aces' DH Chad Gambill led the offense going 1-for-4 with a homerun and two RBIs.

The Lumberjacks sweep their doubleheader against the Aces, winning game two 1-0. Bangor starter Clayton Andrews picked up his eighth win of the season, going the complete game (7 innings), allowing three hits, no runs, two walks and striking out nine. Kazuhiro Kohno and Rolando Bello led the Jacks offense each going 2-for-4 at the plate, with Bello getting the only RBI of the game on a single after a Brian Baker triple in the fourth. Aces starter Kevin Kuklis lost his second game of the season, going five and two-third innings, allowing nine hits, one run and striking out three. Chad Gambill, Jesse Torres and Andy Neufield had a hit apiece for the Aces.
