Durham, N.C. - The 11-person All-Northeast League team selected by a vote of the league's manager and media members was announced today. Brockton, New Jersey and Quebec each placed three players on the squad.

At catcher is Brockton's Brian Jones, who was a member of July's All-Star team. Jones hit .248 with 46 runs scored, 12 home runs, 12 doubles and drove in 55.

North Shore's Vic Davilla, the reigning league MVP, once again nabs first base honors after a season of hitting .330, which ranked fourth in the NEL, with 14 doubles, 14 long balls and 56 runs batted in. He ranked second in the league with 116 hits.

Next to him in the infield is Brockton 2B Mike Torres. He hit .277 this year and had 10 home runs to go along with 19 doubles and four triples to drive in 51 runs.

The left side of the infield consists of New Jersey Jackals, as Chris Rowan earned the honors at shortstop and Wilton Veras is the league's best third baseman. Rowan led the league in home runs (23), was third in extra-base hits (38) and fourth in slugging percentage (.571). In addition, he hit .268, scored 45 runs and drove in 63.

Emond's teammate Eddie Lantigua was chosen as the designated hitter. Lantigua, who made the team last season as a third baseman, ranked third in home runs and RBI, 18 and 74, respectively, and placed fourth in extra-base hits with 37.

Brockton's Brian Buchanan was chosen as the Northeast League's best left-handed pitcher after going 11-5 with a 3.26 earned run average. In 119 innings, he allowed 50 runs, 43 earned, and struck out 98, which ranked fourth.
