Philadelphia, PA, February 28, 2006 - The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that Philadelphia KiXX defender Pat Morris has been named the League's Defensive Player-of-the-Month (POM) for his performance throughout the month of February. The distinction is the first monthly honor for the Philadelphia native this season; he also received the MISL's Defensive Player-of-the-Week (POW) accolade for the seven-day period ending February 26.
Morris led all KiXX scorers with nine points on seven goals and a pair of assists in the team's six contests in the month of February. He also recorded a team-high six blocks in the month, three coming versus the Chicago Storm at UIC Pavilion on February 12. After failing to record a point in the team's action versus California (2/4) or versus Baltimore (2/8), the four-time all-star defender registered at least one point in the club's final four games. The 2005 MISL Defender of the Year also posted a career-best four-goal performance versus the defending League Champion Milwaukee Wave on February 25, connecting on the game's final four scores including the game winner at 2:39 of overtime to snap Philadelphia's franchise worst nine-game losing streak.

Morris, who has recorded more than 250 goals and nearly 400 blocks, currently leads the KiXX with 16 blocks and ranks tied for second with 17 points (11 goals and six assists) in 15 appearances this season.
