As their season comes to an end, the North Shore Navigators have announced that Derek Dubois (Clark) and Tim Hendricks (Benedictine) are the recipients of the Navigators' Most Valuable Pitcher and Most Valuable Player awards, respectively, for the 2013 season.

Dubois, a six-foot right-handed pitcher, is from Haverhill and is entering his senior year at Clark University. In this, his first season with the Navigators, Dubois has been dominant going 4-2 with a 1.68 ERA. Dubois struck out 43 batters in 42.2 innings and was selected to the FCBL All-Star Team as part of Team Massachusetts. Opposing batters are only hitting .263 against Dubois as he is posting a 1.24 WHIP. Dubois has only gotten stronger as the season progressed. He has not given up an earned run in his last three appearances, dating all the way back to July 11th.

Hendricks, a six-foot right-handed outfielder, is native to Mundelein, Illinois and entering his junior year at Benedictine University. Hendricks is in his third year with the Navigators and in each season his numbers have increased. This season, Hendricks is hitting .359 with 21 runs scored, 6 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 25 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. Hendricks also posted a .420 slugging percentage as well as a .385 OBP an .805 OPS. Since July 1st, Hendricks has had at least one hit in every single game except five. Hendricks was also a selection for Team Massachusetts in the FCBL All-Star Game.

The Navigators will look to both Dubois and Hendricks as they begin the playoffs which begin on Sunday at either Martha's Vineyard or Nashua. The Navs do have one more regular season home game on Friday, August 9th, when they play host to the Seacoast Mavericks. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
