LYNN, MASS. - The North Shore Navigators, member of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, will play in an exhibition game on Tuesday, June 5 at 6 p.m. against the Lexington Blue Sox of the Boston Intercity League at World Series Park in Saugus, Mass.
The game will be hosted by The Cannonball Foundation out of Arlington, Mass. who look to give back to the Saugus, Revere, Lynn, and Chelsea Little Leagues with a pre-game clinic from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Reading High School coach and Personal Best founder, Pete Moscariello, along with local Navigators players, will run the clinic followed by a speech from Moscariello.
"The common American family is getting priced out of our pastime" Executive Director of The Cannonball Foundation Mike Schell said, "too many kids have the talent to play but can't afford it."
There will also be food, raffles, and a silent auction at the event to help support both Saugus Little League and The Cannonball Foundation. Raffle and auction items will include Red Sox tickets, restaurant gift cards, and signed Boston sports memorabilia all at an affordable price.
"What better way to kick off the 2012 season than partnering with The Cannonball Foundation for this exciting event," Navigators General Manager Bill Terlecky said, "it's a great way for our ballplayers to get on a field together while supporting a great cause."
Admission to the game will be free of charge with all proceeds from raffles, auctions, and general donations going to support The Cannonball Foundation.
