North Shore Navigators News Release
Lynn, MA - The North Shore Navigators have added two more players to their 2016 summer roster. General Manager Bill Terlecky announced that Riley Herold and Brett Sasse of the University of Nebraska-Omaha have signed contracts to join the team. The announcement came on Sunday afternoon.
?Herold is a switch-hitter who ranked as the top overall shortstop recruit in Nebraska, and fifth overall recruit in the state. The Navs are planning to use him primarily at shortstop but Herold could fill in around the infield as needed. Herold was highly sought after by other major programs, but ultimately elected to stay home to play at Nebraska-Omaha for Head Coach and former professional baseball player, Bob Herold. Coach Herold is also the father of Riley.
Sasse is a junior pitcher who saw most of his collegiate action during the 2015 season. Sasse was fourth amongst the team's relief pitchers in both innings pitched (28) and strikeouts (17). He made 14 appearances on the season earning 2 saves, which was good for second on the team.
Herold and Sasse join infielders Beau Myers of Appalachian State University as the first three players announced as part of the 2016 North Shore Navigator roster.
