Nogay, Bay Sox Trample Mystic

New Bedford's Max Nogay (West Virginia) hit his 1st homerun of the season in the Bay Sox 11-5 victory over the Mystic Schooners Saturday night at Paul Walsh Field.

Nogay led the offense with 5 of the teams 10 RBI's, 3 coming from his 3-run homerun. He went 3 for 3 overall, crossing the plate twice.

Alex Witkus (Fairfield) and Curtiss Pomeroy (Georgetown) both had 3 hits, and Witkus scored 1 of New Bedford's 11 runs.

Alec Keller (Princeton), Tyler Boyd (Seton Hall), and Nico Darras (Cal State Fullerton) each added a pair of hits for Mystic. The 3 Schooners scored 4 of the team's 5 runs and recorded 3 of Mystic's 5 RBIs.

Frank Vilacha (New Haven) of New Bedford earned his 2nd win of the season. Vilacha pitched 7 2/3 innings, struck out 6, and gave up 5 runs on 9 hits.

Receiving the loss for Mystic was starter Michael Eckerle (Long Island) who pitched 2 2/3 innings. He struck out 3 and gave up 4 runs on 7 hits.

The Bay Sox recorded a total of 18 hits, 10 RBI's, zero errors, and scored 11 on Saturday night.

Lane Richards recorded two hits, moving his hit-streak to 6 games.

The Bay Sox move to 14-20 on the season. Their next game is at Danbury on July 22nd.
