
Nighthawks Not Able to Overcome Defending Champions

Knoxville, TN - Nighthawks (0-4) started off strong against defending champions Albany Panthers (4- 0) but was not able to pull off a second half push ending with a 59-10 loss.
Albany's Antwone Savage started off the game with a touchdown pass from Cecil Lester. Knoxville answered with a touchdown by Kelvin Thompson and a 33 yard field goal by kicker Alex Walls. The Nighthawks held on to the 10-7 lead going into the 2nd quarter.
Albany's Geoff Boyer ended the night with 5 "uno's" throughout the game after kicking the ball into the uprights during a kick off.
The Nighthawks wide receiver Justin Craig had a total of 132 receiving yards with his longest catch being 44 yards.
Despite the score, the fans once again got into the game by cheering on their Knoxville Nighthawks players. The team had a warm welcome on the field at the end of the game during the autograph session.
The Knoxville Nighthawks will be on the road next week on Saturday, April 21st in Huntsville, Alabama against the Alabama Hammers. They will return home on Friday, April 27th at 7pm against the Louisiana Swashbucklers at the Civic Coliseum.
