Maryland NightHawks News Release

Upper Marlboro, MD. The ABA Maryland NightHawks professional basketball team is calling all Cheerleading and Dance Teams in the area to be the Official NightHawks Dance Team for a game! According to Ashlee Fontes, Asst GM of the NightHawks, "We sat down one day, really mapped out the goals of the organization and we determined how we can structure our organization to involve the community the most. That's what sparked programs like Dare to Dance and Court of Dreams. With a program like Dare to Dance, we reach out to the younger girls, help keep that sparkle in their eyes to achieve their dreams and keep reaching for the stars."

The NightHawks already offer quality affordable family-entertainment (tickets start at only $7), but for the fans to be simply in the stands and the team participating in the community is not enough and not where the NightHawks want to stop. They want the fans to fully experience the game atmosphere and the NightHawks are making that happen. If you've ever dreamed of being a dance for a professional sports team, the NightHawks want to make that dream a reality with Dare to Dance.

Any and all the local Cheer and Dance teams are welcome - and the NightHawks have developed a plan so that organizations can use Dare to Dance as a fundraiser with the potential to raise $1000 plus. Hurry and book your date today. Space is limited (only 18 home games) and is filling up fast.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
