Maryland NightHawks News Release

Upper Marlboro, MD. – Saturday, September 11, 2004, the Maryland NightHawks contributed to The Friends of Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum's "An Affair at Point Farm Luau," a benefit reception that featured live and silent auctions.

"The Luau put on by the Friends of Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum is just another way of how we will be involved in the community. We don't want to limit ourselves in how we can interact and how we can give back," said Andrew Haines, the NightHawks owner.

The Friends of Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum reported an incredible $20k net total from the auction. The NightHawks donated floor seat tickets to auction off at the event. The highest bidder of the tickets, then in turn donated them to the Boys and Girls Club of North Beach.

"It was great to see that winning bidder of our tickets donation give his winnings to the Boys and Girls Club. It gives us a good sense of the community...that the people in it want to give back and help as well," commented Haines.

The Maryland NightHawks is the new professional Men's Professional Basketball Team in the area. The NightHawks join the legendary American Basketball Association (ABA) as one of the most promising up and coming expansion teams.
