
NIFL Announces Players of the Week

LAFAYETTE, LAâThe National Indoor Football League is pleased to announce Players of the Week from Week 6 action around the league as follows:
Atlantic Conference:
Scott Pingel - Wide Receiver, Show Me Believers
Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week
Perryville, Missouri native Scott Pingel had a strong game over the weekend as the Show Me Believers defeated the Evansville BlueCats 41-30. Pingel hauled in a team high 10 receptions for 133 yards, helping the Believers edge the BlueCats. Show Me is currently 2-2 on the season and will host the Oklahoma Crude this Saturday in Missouri.
Allan Jackson - Linebacker / Strong Safety, Ohio Valley Greyhounds
Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week
Ohio Valley linebacker/strong safety Allan Jackson helped lead the Greyhounds defense in the 48-34 win over the Lexington Horsemen this past Saturday. Jackson was responsible for 13 total tackles, as well as one interception, and one pass defended. A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, Jackson and the rest of the Greyhounds will take on the Evansville BlueCats this Saturday in Indiana.
Sullivan Beard - Defensive Back / Kicker Returner, Houma Bayou Bucks
Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week
Lockport, Louisiana native Sullivan Beard played a key role on the Bucks kick return efforts as Houma went on to defeat the Lake Charles LandSharks 39-33 on Saturday. Beard returned five kickoffs for 132 yards, and also returned a field goal for a touchdown. With a 4-1 record on the season to date, Houma will enjoy a bye week this weekend as they prepare to take on the Tupelo FireAnts in one week.
Pacific Conference:
Wesley Cates - Running Back, Tri-City Diesel
Pacific Conference Offensive Player of the Week
Tri-City Diesel running back Wesley Cates had another impressive outing as he helped his team defeat the Wichita Falls Thunder, 48-19, this past Saturday. Cates ran the ball on 12 attempts for 118 yards and 3 touchdowns. The 6-foot, 225-pounder from Columbus, Ohio, also hauled in two receptions for 21 yards. The Diesel currently sit atop the Pacific South division with a record of 4-1.
Brad Lindamood - Linebacker, Tri-City Diesel
Pacific Conference Defensive Player of the Week
Tri-City linebacker Brad Lindamood helped anchor the Diesel's defensive efforts against the Wichita Falls Thunder over the weekend. Lindamood, a 6-foot-1, 230-pound native of Shurpsburg, Georgia, recorded a total of 7.5 tackles including three tackles for a loss, one pass defended, two quarterback hurries and one sack. Lindamood and the rest of the Diesel will take on the Black Hills Red Dogs this Friday in South Dakota.
Chase Long - Kicker, Omaha Beef
Pacific Conference Special Teams Player of the Week
Beef kicker Chase Long was all leg this past Saturday against the Billings Outlaws. Despite Omaha losing the game 37-33 at Billings, Long was still able to boot the ball an amazing length, completing four field goal attempts of 46, 57, 46, and 23 yards. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder was also 1-1 on point after attempts for the Beef, as well. The Beef's record currently stands at 3-2 on the season as they take on the Lincoln Capitols this Saturday.
