NIFL Announced Revocation of TIPS Franchises, Moves Forward With Teams

March 30, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL) - Wyoming Cavalry News Release

LAFAYETTE, LA—The National Indoor Football League has announced today the revocation of three franchises from Tri-State Indoor Professional Sports (TIPS). TIPS served as the owners of NIFL franchises in Greenville, SC, Waco, TX, and Fort Collins, CO. The NIFL is currently working to secure new, local ownership in all three cities.

“As a league, we are working hard to get our new local ownership in place,” NIFL Commissioner Carolyn Shiver said. “Waco is in the process of announcing their new ownership group, and we are still working hard to get everything settled in both Greenville and Fort Collins.”

“As we move forward in each of these member cities, we are still looking forward to a strong year as a league,” Shiver continued. “The NIFL is committed to the players that are in place in all three cities, and helping to secure local ownership groups for these communities.”

The league expects minimal schedule changes to take place as a result of this announcement. "Conversations with Ms. Shiver have indicated that no other teams' home games will be interrupted, which includes the May 21 Wyoming Cavalry home game," says Wyoming Cavalry managing partner, Mike Layton.

The Wyoming Cavalry face the Sioux Falls storm this Saturday, April 3 in Sioux Falls after a satisfying victory over the Tri-City Diesel on March 26.

The Wyoming Cavalry home opener is April 9 against the Utah Warriors. Kickoff is 7:05 pm. Season and single-game tickets are available by contacting the Casper Events Center at 307.577.3030 or 800.442.2256.
