November 8, 2023 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Cincinnati News Release
FC Cincinnati defender Nick Hagglund underwent a successful surgical procedure to repair a torn hamstring tendon, the club announced today.
The procedure was performed on Nov. 7, 2023 in London, England by world-renowned surgeon and expert Professor Fares Haddad at Princess Grace Hospital. Hagglund will miss the remainder of the 2023 postseason and will begin his rehab immediately upon returning to Cincinnati.
Hagglund, 31, made 34 appearances across all competitions with FC Cincinnati in 2023, scoring one goal on August 26 against New York City FC. The center back started in 10 clean sheets for the Orange and Blue this season.
Earlier this year on April 1 against Inter Miami CF, Hagglund became the first player in FC Cincinnati history to reach 100 appearances with the club. The Cincinnati native and the club's all-time leader in games played, games started and minutes played signed a contract extension in March through the 2024 season.
