Nick Diaz Appearance and Jersey Auction Highlights Fan Appreciation Night

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Lightning have announced acclaimed cage fighter Nick Diaz will appear at the Stockton Lightning season finale on Saturday, July 29 at Stockton Arena beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT. In addition, a live "jersey-off-their-back" auction has been announced for Saturday's game.

Diaz will appear for the game's entirety in Stockton Arena's north concourse to sign autographs and will be accompanied by The Ring Girls of Ultimate Cage Fighting.

Ten game-worn Lightning jerseys from Saturday's game will be auctioned off for all fans in attendance with the post-game auction held on-field and hosted by "D.J. Walker" of KAT Country 103-FM's "D.J. Walker In The Morning" show. Portions of jersey proceeds benefit The United Way.

The following Lightning players will have their game-worn jersey auctioned off, in order as follows:

Stockton native Nick Diaz began fighting two weeks after his 18th birthday and within two years became the WEC Champion, IFC Champion and a UFC contender. In the process, the 22-year-old star has become one of the most recognizable and sought after fighters in the sport by both fans and promoters alike. His forward attitude and fighting style has made fans of even the most critical fight fans, analysts and ensures a night of action packed fights will be topped off by an exciting performance by Diaz.

The Lightning will wrap-up the 2006 season at home against the Central Valley Coyotes, beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, July 29 at Stockton Arena. A part of Fan Appreciation Night (presented by KAT Country, ADT, and AM-970 ESPN Radio), the first 4,000 fans in attendance will receive a free set of "CheerStix," compliments of ADT.
