Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON - The Ottawa Senators announced today that National Hockey League action will return to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday, Sept. 23, 2005 at 7:05 p.m. with a pre-season exhibition game between Ottawa, NHL affiliate of the East Division champion Binghamton Senators, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Single-game tickets for the NHL exhibition will go on sale Monday, Sept. 12 at 8 a.m. inside the Binghamton Senators executive office on the third floor of the Arena. The ticket prices are $32 for side seating and $30 for end seating. The Arena box office will also be selling single-game tickets on Sept. 12, but their opening time has not been determined.
Ottawa will be playing a pre-season exhibition in Binghamton for the second time in the last three seasons. Center Jason Spezza tallied the winning goal for Ottawa in a 3-2 overtime win against the Buffalo Sabres before a sold-out Arena on Sept. 19, 2003.
"We are thrilled for our fans to have a chance to see NHL hockey and some familiar faces from last season's East Division champs back at the Arena along with the possibility of Sidney Crosby playing one of his early professional contests right here in Binghamton," said Tom Mitchell, the Binghamton Senators' executive vice president of operations. "Ottawa has been a great partner and the NHL exhibition game in Binghamton is just further proof of their commitment to the area and our American Hockey League franchise," he added.
As in 2003, the NHL exhibition game is included in all season ticket packages. Season ticket holders will be able to preorder extra NHL exhibition tickets beginning Aug. 22 and pick them up at the Senators' office starting Sept. 12 during regular business hours or the night of the game at the season ticket holder will call window. An informational mailing with further ticketing details will be sent to all season ticket holders in mid-August.
A $2 discount for children age 12 and younger and standard group discounts will apply for the NHL exhibition game. To schedule a group night for the NHL exhibition game, contact Fausto Rubicondo, director of group sales, at (607) 722-SENS.
