NFL QB Kurt Warner in AFL on NBC studio Sunday

April 28, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release

NEW YORK – April 28, 2004 – NBC Sports' regional coverage of the Arena Football League is highlighted by the lead match-up of the Tampa Bay Storm (5-7) facing the Orlando Predators (6-5) Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.

St. Louis Rams Quarterback Kurt Warner will join AFL on NBC studio host Al Trautwig and analyst Glenn Parker Sunday to provide halftime updates and postgame wrap-up. The two-time NFL MVP (1999, 2001), Warner played three seasons in the AFL (1995-1997) for the Iowa Barnstormers (now the New York Dragons), leading his team to two straight ArenaBowl appearances.

Defending ArenaBowl champion Tampa Bay continues their intense rivalry with Orlando, dubbed the "War on I-4", as both teams vie for playoff spots. Jay Gruden's Predators have won three straight, while Tampa Bay brings a two-game win streak into Sunday's tilt. Tampa Bay won the season opening match-up against Orlando, 52-41. Orlando defensive specialist Kenny "The Glove" McEntyre became the AFL's all-time career leader in interceptions on Sunday with his two picks as he led his team to victory over Dallas.

Bob Papa (play-by-play), Pat Haden (analyst) and Lewis Johnson (reporter) will broadcast the game.

NBC's regional game coverage also includes the Chicago Rush (7-4) at the Detroit Fury (4-7). Allen Bestwick (play-by-play), Ray Bentley (analyst) and Marty Snider (reporter) will have the call.
