Miami Morays News Release
The Miami Morays and Team Owner Oronde Gadsden are pleased to announce the naming of Hall of Fame Miami Dolphin Offensive Lineman Larry Little as the first head coach in franchise history.
"We had to go out and find somebody to lead us to where we want to go, which ultimately is a championship football team. We have a native of Miami who we think will make an immediate impact in the football community. We wanted someone who was well-respected, loved in the community, who has experience coaching football, and played for the Dolphins. I think this is a good start for the Miami Morays." said Oronde Gadsden.
"This is an honor to be named the first coach of the Miami Morays. We are going to put together an exciting franchise. We are going to play exciting football and throw it all over the place with a solid quarterback, and we are going to run it too. This town will be talking about us because we are going to be a good football team." Coach Little said.
"We have an advantage because of the amount of talent in this area. With the local nationally recognized programs in South Florida who may not have had the opportunity to play in the NFL, the Morays will provide them their opportunity to allow them to hone their skills and maybe one day play in the NFL.
"Another thing I am proud of is that I am from right here in Overtown. I went to high school at Booker T. Washington, and I lived about four miles from here, so this is home for me. I am going to do everything I can to make the City of Miami proud of what we are going to accomplish on the football field."
Little announced that the Morays will immediately start the process of filling their roster with local talent by announcing open tryouts at the Miami Arena on Dec 18th. Players with college experience who are interested in trying to earn a spot on the Morays can get more information by visiting the Morays website or by calling the Moray's office at 305-530-4400.
