NFL Athletes Underwood, Horn Add to Blue Racer Depth
MARION, OH - The Marion Blue Racers are proud to announce the signing of two former NFL players in DB EJ Underwood and WR Joe Horn.
EJ is a product of the The Ohio State University as well as playing for the New York Giants, New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills. He also played with the Cleveland Gladiators in the AFL. Not only does EJ bring a veteran presence to the defense but he is also a winner. He has won championships with a few teams including a National Championship in 2002 while playing for The Ohio State Buckeyes. Head Coach Marc Huddleston had this to say about EJ, "We are looking at EJ to help lead our Defensive Backs as well as see him perform on offense as a wide receiver. He is multi-talented, so we need to utilize him in every way possible."
Joe Horn attended Ashland University where he was a three time second team All-GLIAC wide receiver and is the all time leader in reception yards (2,681) and touchdown receptions (28) at his school. He also excelled in track where he was a 12-time All-American in the 100m, 200m, 4 x 400m and 4 x 100m sprinting events. He has had stints with theIndianapolis Colts, Calgary Stampeders, and the Cleveland Gladiators. Coach Huddleston exclaimed, "He is a great football player and is a great character for our locker room. Joe brings a presence of speed that matched up with an explosive Mike Tatum, is going to be difficult to gameplan for!"
Next up on the Blue Racers agenda is the 2014 Training Camp which will begin in January. And finally on February 9th, the Blue Racers will kickoff against the Kentucky Xtreme at home to begin the season. To purchase tickets for the 2014 Season call 740-251-9688.
