Next Wave Forward Benjamin Barjolo and Defender Joseph Buckley Set to Return to Orange County SC for 2024 Season

Orange County SC is excited to announce that Next Wave players Benjamin Barjolo and Joseph Buckley will return under existing contracts for OCSC in 2024. Barjolo and Buckley have featured heavily for OCSC II last season and will look to challenge for first team minutes this season.

A 16-year-old from Atlanta, GA, Benjamin Barjolo returns to OCSC after joining midseason in 2023. Barjolo played in five USL Academy League regular season matches where he scored two goals for the club. He also appeared in every match during OCSC II's run to the USL Academy League Finals earlier this month, where he scored the match winning penalty kick in OCSC's Quarterfinal victory over the Indy Eleven Academy. Barjolo will get his first chance at first team minutes with OCSC in 2024.

Joseph Buckley, 18, returns under contract to the Orange and Black for his second year with the club. The Westwood, MA native earned his first professional appearance with OCSC last season at Southwest University Park on the road against El Paso Locomotive FC. Buckley started in every match for OCSC II last season and scored one goal for the academy squad. Buckley also started every match for OCSC II at the USL Academy League Finals earlier this month, and was named to the All-Tournament First Team after his performances.

Barjolo and Buckley will look to follow in the footsteps of those Next Wave players who have come before them like Kobi Henry, Korede Osundina, Bryce Jamison and Ashton Miles and compete with the first team and beyond.
