Florida Launch News Release
The Florida Launch have added 13 players to the roster today through the Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft.
"We have more depth on the roster now. We were able to fill some needs and wants today," said Launch Head Coach, Tom Mariano. "We've added more pieces to the puzzle that put us in a great situation to be successful."
With the first overall pick in the draft, the Launch selected faceoff specialist Will Gural from Brown University. Gural had the highest faceoff win percentage of all seniors in NCAA Division I play. Other notable selections include Greg Melaugh and Martin Bowes.
"Faceoffs are key in the MLL. Will is someone who had a great year in college last year. He's a competitor and an athlete, someone that you really have to give a shot. We're excited to have him come play for the Launch," Mariano said.
The 13 new players selected today will join the Launch in April for training camp. The first game of the season will kick off the 2017 Florida Tour as the Launch host the Boston Cannons in a soon to be named city in Florida. The Launch will take pro lacrosse to three new cities in Florida as a part of the tour before returning to FAU Stadium on June 10 to take on the New York Lizards.
