Fargo Force News Release
FARGO, ND - The Fargo Force announced today that the inaugural Sanford Children's Night promotion raised just under $13,000 this past Friday night.
The funds were raised through a blind silent auction of the specialty jerseys the team wore, $1 back on every single game reserved seat ticket sold, a text-to-donate program and also through chuck-a-puck sales where a Carson Wentz autographed Philadelphia Eagles jersey was given away.
Sanford Children's worked with the Fargo Force on creating a special jersey for the night, which was designed by Brody Strahm a local 10 year old cancer survivor. At just two years of age, Brody was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer that spread to his lungs. He was treated at Sanford Children's Hospital and the Roger Maris Cancer Center and today is cancer free. Brody was a guest of honor for the night, receiving a jersey of his own and also dropping the ceremonial first puck.
"We are so grateful for the generosity of those who came out to support sick and injured children on Friday for Sanford Children's Night," said Sanford Children's Development Manager Hillery Mork. "In addition, a huge thank you to the Fargo Force team and staff who wrapped their arms around Brody and his family and gave them a night they will never forget. The Fargo-Moorhead community is lucky to have such a class act organization within the region!"
The funds will all be used locally at Sanford Children's Hospital.
The Fargo Force are on the road for the next three weekends before returning home to Scheels Arena on March 16 & 17 for a weekend series versus the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Force currently sit in third place just 1 point behind Waterloo and Sioux Falls who are tied for second. Omaha currently sits in first in the Western Conference standings.
Tickets are available at the Scheels Arena box office Monday through Friday from 10AM-5PM, online 24/7 at ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
