Tri-Cities Fever News Release

The Tri-Cities Fever announce that Offensive Lineman Cornealius Thomas-Fuamatu has been assigned to the team by the af2 league office. Thomas-Fuamatu was multi-game starter for the University of Nebraska and will be joining Nebraska teammate Andy Poulosky on the 2009 Fever roster.

Thomas-Fuamatu, 6'6", 330 lbs, began his collegiate career alongside Fever QB Joe Ayoob at San Francisco City College. At San Francisco City College, Thomas-Fuamatu started every game his sophomore year (2003) and helped bring the team to a perfect 12-0 season as well as winning the California Junior College Championship against Grossmont College. His Junior year at Nebraska, Thomas-Fuamatu entered the season as a starter before losing the majority of the season to injury. He returned his Senior year starting at left tackle where he was a key factor in the Husker's offensive line helping to protect first-time QB Zac Taylor, who later went on to break the schools single-game and single-season passing records. "Thomas-Fuamatu is a great addition to this season's roster, he has all the tools necessary to be a tremendous professional football player," Head Coach Richard Davis explains. "He has a great toughness to him, plays the game hard, and I'm really looking forward to watching him tear it up on the field."
