Newark, NJ - Rooting for the home team is a given, but the Courtyard Newark Downtown decided to take things one step further by becoming the official hotel sponsor for the Newark Bears.
The Newark Bears, part of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, play at the Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium, just minutes from this Essex County hotel, making the partnership convenient for both the team and fans. In addition to an impressive roster, the Bears' coaching staff includes some major league talent. Manager Garry Templeton is a three time MLB All Star who spent most of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals, and pitching coach Ralph Citarella was drafted by the Cardinals in the 1st round of the 1979 amateur draft.
