New York Streets Blow out Orlando Predators 70-31 in Home Opener to Move to 2-0

NEW YORK, NY - The expansion New York Streets of the National Arena League (NAL) remained undefeated with a 70-31 demolition of the expansion Orlando Predators on Saturday night at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, N.Y.

The Streets soared to a 23-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 44-19 at halftime. QB E.J. Nemeth (Sacred Heart) and WR Rob Jones (Delaware) led the streets on offense. Nemeth tossed seven touchdown passes and rushed for one. Five of his touchdown passes went to Jones, and one a piece to Devante Jenkins (Southern Connecticut State) and Edgar Allen Poe (Army). Kicker Billy Dean (Shippensburg) chipped in with six extra points and a two-pointer on the opening kickoff.

Defensively, the Streets are anchored by a trio of linemen from the SEC, Herbert Moore (Ole Miss), Isaac Gross (Ole Miss) and Brandon Ivory (Alabama). They spent most of the game in the Predators backfield harassing QB Kyle Israel (Central Florida).

The Streets opened their inaugural season with a 52-41 victory over the Jacksonville Sharks in Week 1 in Jacksonville. After a bye this week, they travel to Greensboro, N.C., to take on the defending NAL champions the Carolina Cobras. The Cobras also improved to 2-0 tonight by defeating the Massachusetts Pirates 50-22 at home.

The Streets next home game is Saturday, May 18 when they take on the Massachusetts Pirates at the Westchester County Center at 7:00 p.m, EDT. All home Streets games are on MSG Networks.
