New York Riptide News Release
Uniondale, NY - The New York Riptide have signed defenseman Jay Thorimbert to a one-year contract, the team announced today.
Per team policy, no terms were released.
Thorimbert was acquired by the Riptide via a trade with the Rochester Knighthawks during the 2020 NLL Draft. A 12-year NLL veteran, Thorimbert has gone .555 over his career on faceoffs, winning over 2500 of them in 180 games.
"Packaged in a draft day trade, Jay gives us experience and mentorship at the faceoff dot as well as solid defense," Riptide General Manager Jim Veltman said. "We look forward to training camp and the knowledge and competitiveness he will bring to it."
The Riptide will return to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the franchise's second season this December. Fans have a chance to be one of the first to own a player tee of 2020 first overall pick Jeff Teat! For a limited time, place a $50 deposit per seat on a Season Ticket Membership and receive a free Jeff Teat player t-shirt. While supplies last.
