New York Riptide News Release

Uniondale, NY - The New York Riptide have signed defenseman Andrew Suitor to a one-year contract, the team announced today. The deal is pending league approval.

Per team policy, no terms were released.

Suitor saw action in 12 games for the Riptide last season with seven points on one goal and six assists. Suitor also scooped up 114 loose balls, the most since his single-season career high of 120 in 2012 when he was named NLL Transition Player of the Year, and the third best in the NLL.

"'Suits' is the ultimate team guy that glues individuals together and takes his teammates to another level," Riptide General Manager Jim Veltman said. "His veteran presence commands respect and strengthens our players. Our organization is proud to sign him for another year."

Originally selected fourth overall in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft, Suitor was a member of the 2011 All-Rookie Team. In 2012, in addition to being named Transition Player of the Year, Suitor was a member of the All-Pro First Team. In four career playoff games, he has one goal and 36 loose ball pickups along with three caused turnovers.

The Riptide will return to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the franchise's second season this December.
