Toronto Rock News Release

Oakville, ON - Toronto Rock Owner, President and GM Jamie Dawick announced today that defender Adam Jay has agreed to a two-year contract. The signing is pending league approval.

Jay was one of seven defenders that were protected by the Rock in the recent NLL expansion draft.

"Adam's arrival was a little under the radar with our organization and has progressed nicely up our depth chart," said Dawick. "Expansion drafts aren't depth charts, but he's proven himself. He's put in a lot of time working to get better during the time off. We're really excited for his continued growth and believe his ceiling is high."

Nicknamed "Sugar", the 26-year old from Victoria, BC was originally selected in the 4th Round, 32nd overall in the 2016 NLL Draft by Vancouver. Following his release from the Vancouver organization, he signed with the Rock in August of 2017. Jay then spent the 2018 season on the team's Practice Roster and would make his NLL debut, the following season, on March 30, 2019 vs. Philadelphia.

Jay, like everyone in the lacrosse world, is eagerly anticipating a return to the floor in December and beginning a new NLL season.

"I can't tell you how much we miss the fans and how much the fans mean to us especially during these tough times," said Jay. "Words can't describe the feeling when we get to play in front of our fans."

The Toronto Rock Home Opener is scheduled for Saturday, December 4 at Hamilton's FirstOntario Centre. Tickets for the game go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, August 4 at 10 a.m. through ticketmaster.ca and torontorock.com.

The beginning of the NLL free agency signing period opens on August 1. Stay tuned to the Rock's social media channels for the latest player signings.
