Columbus Catfish News Release

Columbus, GA - The Columbus Catfish have launched a brand new website at ColumbusCatfish.com. The Catfish teamed up with Minor League Baseball Advanced Media to produce a site that will be easier for fans to navigate and allow for more frequent and unique updates on the Catfish. One of the new ways to keep up with Columbus baseball is a Catfish newsletter, which fans can sign up for at the website.

The website is just another step in already successful trends for the Catfish franchise. During the 2006 season home attendance increased 12% from the previous season. Single game highlights included a franchise record 4,838 fans on July 15 against the Augusta GreenJackets and an April 11 win over the Charleston RiverDogs in front of a home opener record crowd of 2,765.

High energy continued in the off-season as the Catfish announced the signing of a Player Development Contract with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, a two-year agreement that will begin with the 2007 season. Player development is a top priority for the Rays, which means Columbus baseball fans have access to one of the top farm systems in all of baseball.

Ready to keep the exciting momentum moving forward the Catfish front office is already preparing exciting promotions and ticket offers, months in advance of the 2007 season. Season tickets are currently available for the 2007 season, which will begin Thursday, April 5th when Columbus hosts the Kannapolis Intimidators, Class-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The schedule will be released soon in its entirety at www.ColumbusCatfish.com. For more information call the Catfish at (706) 571-8866.

In January of 2005, MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) and the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues (NAPBL), better know as Minor League Baseball, announced a major partnership agreement making MLBAM the exclusive provider of Internet related services and other interactive media services for the Minor Leagues. The 10-year online agreement, which began with the 2005 season, makes MLBAM exclusively responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of the official Minor League site, the websites for each of the NAPBL leagues and the websites for the NAPBL teams that elect to participate in the new website network. Currently BAM hosts and maintains the sites for over 50 Minor League teams and Leagues. In addition, MLBAM has been selected as the official statistician for Minor League Baseball.
