
New Mexico's Jamine Peterson Named NBA Development League Performer of the Week

NEW YORK, March 28, 2011 - Jamine Peterson of the New Mexico Thunderbirds was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of March 21.
Peterson, a 6-6, 225-pound rookie forward out of Providence, led the Thunderbirds to a 3-1 record on the week, averaging 24.9 points and 8.8 rebounds.
Peterson put together a pair of outstanding performances in back-to-back road games this weekend. He had 40 points and 13 rebounds in a 121-101 win at Springfield on Saturday, and followed that with 36 points and 12 rebounds in a 129-97 loss at Fort Wayne on Sunday. Peterson also began the week with 19 points and eight rebounds in a 104-100 win over Bakersfield on Tuesday.
This week's honorable mention selections were Bakersfield's Trey Johnson, who averaged 23.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists in four games; Dakota's Renaldo Major, who had 26 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in one game; Erie's Ivan Johnson, who averaged 33.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists in three games; Fort Wayne's Darnell Lazare, who averaged 20.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in three games; Idaho's Antoine Walker, who averaged 19.3 points and 11.8 rebounds in four games; Iowa's Curtis Stinson, who averaged 33.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 11.0 assists in three games; Maine's DeShawn Sims, who averaged 24.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in four games; Reno's Marcus Landry, who averaged 19.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games; Rio Grande Valley's Jerel McNeal, who averaged 20.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in four games; Sioux Falls' Patrick Ewing Jr., who had 27 points, 15 rebounds and six assists in one game before earning a GATORADE Call-Up to the New Orleans Hornets; Springfield's Lance Hurdle, who averaged 21.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games; and Utah's Ronald Dupree, who averaged 21.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in three games.
